Terms of Use

Effective date: [SET ON PUBLISH] · Last updated: [SET ON PUBLISH]

The 30-second read: WakeMeBot is an AI alarm clock. It's a productivity tool, not a safety system. We don't guarantee the AI gets every suggestion right, and you shouldn't bet your medical appointments or flights on it alone. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled, and refunds go through Apple. The full detail is below.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the WakeMeBot iOS application ("App") and any related services. By installing, launching, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, delete the App.

The App is offered by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("WakeMeBot", "we"). Contact: support@wakemebot.app.

These Terms incorporate Apple's standard "Licensed Application End User License Agreement" (the Apple EULA). Where these Terms conflict with Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA controls for matters between you and Apple; ours controls for matters between you and us.

2. Who can use the App

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA / UK / Brazil) to use the App. If you're under the age of legal majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian.

3. Account & sign-in

The App supports two modes of use:

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in email secure. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account.

4. Subscriptions — WakeMeBot Plus

4.1 What you're buying

WakeMeBot Plus unlocks: unlimited active alarms · AI calendar suggestions · studio-quality wake voices · personalised wake-line refinement.

4.2 Pricing

Prices in other regions may differ to match Apple's regional pricing tiers; the in-app paywall shows the localised price before you confirm.

4.3 Auto-renewal (Apple-required disclosures)

4.4 Refunds

Refunds are governed by Apple's standard App Store refund policy. Request via reportaproblem.apple.com.

4.5 Anonymous → identified upgrades

If you upgrade from an anonymous to an identified account while you have an active subscription, your subscription carries over automatically.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. AI-generated content

WakeMeBot's wake-up suggestions and voice lines are generated by AI models (currently Google Gemini for text, ElevenLabs for voice). You acknowledge that:

7. Safety reliance — IMPORTANT

WakeMeBot is a productivity tool, not a safety system.

Do not rely on it as your only alarm when missing the event would create risk to life, limb, or material property, including (but not limited to):

Alarms can fail for reasons outside our control: phone powered off, Do Not Disturb / Focus mode active, notification permission denied, OS-level scheduling delays under iOS resource pressure, AI service outages affecting the voice line, or device storage issues affecting the rendered audio. Set a redundant alarm (e.g. the built-in iOS Clock app) for anything where missing matters.

8. Intellectual property

We own the App, including its design, code, and the WakeMeBot brand. You get a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple's EULA.

You retain ownership of any content you provide — your calendar events, display name, custom alarm labels. By submitting them to the App, you grant us a limited licence to process them solely to operate the App for you.

9. Third-party services

The App integrates with several third parties: Apple, Google Calendar, Google Gemini, ElevenLabs, Supabase, Qonversion, Amplitude. Their respective terms and privacy policies govern your use of those services when you connect them.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI output, non-infringement, or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill; or damages resulting from missed alarms, inaccurate AI suggestions, or any reliance on the App in a high-stakes situation.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in subscription fees in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the App, or (c) your violation of any applicable law.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App for breach of these Terms, prolonged inactivity, or business reasons. You may stop using the App at any time. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability) survive.

14. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / COUNTRY OF THE LEGAL ENTITY], without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App will be resolved in the courts of [CITY, STATE / COUNTRY] unless applicable law requires otherwise.

If you're an EU consumer, you may also have recourse via the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted in the App or on our website with the updated "Effective date." Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the new Terms.
