Support
Can't find what you need? Email support@wakemebot.app — include your iOS version, WakeMeBot version (Settings → About), and a one-line description. We reply within 2 business days.
Getting started
Do I need to sign up to use WakeMeBot?
No. The app works anonymously from the moment you install it. Sign in with email later if you want your alarms to sync across devices and to keep your subscription tied to your account if you switch phones.
Which calendars are supported?
Apple Calendar (any account you've set up in iOS Settings) and Google Calendar (via OAuth — you sign in once, we get read-only access). You can connect both. We're not adding Outlook or Fastmail in the first version.
Why does WakeMeBot ask for calendar access?
The AI suggestion feature reads your upcoming events to decide which ones deserve an alarm and at what time. Without calendar access, you can still set alarms manually — you just don't get the suggestion feature.
Why does WakeMeBot ask for notification permission?
So alarms can fire when the app is closed or the phone is locked. Without notifications, alarms only work when WakeMeBot is open on the screen.
Alarms
Why was my alarm dismissed automatically?
We turn off one-shot alarms after they fire — they've done their job. Recurring alarms stay enabled. If you want it again, tap the toggle on the alarm row to re-enable, or set a new one.
Why is my alarm so much earlier than my event?
Because morning events are wake-up alarms, not prep alarms. A 9 AM pitch gets a ~120-minute lead time so the alarm fires at 7 AM — enough time to actually wake up, eat, and arrive composed. You can edit any alarm time after accepting it.
Why didn't WakeMeBot suggest an alarm for my event?
- It's later than 3 days from now (we only scan the next 3 days)
- The title looks like routine background time ("standup", "lunch break", "OOO", "focus block", "1:1")
- You already have a native iOS reminder set on it
- The AI judged it as not needing a proactive alarm
You can always create the alarm manually from the Alarms tab.
The wake line sounds robotic / weird.
The free tier uses iOS system voices. The Plus tier uses ElevenLabs studio voices (Rachel, Domi, Bella). Try Settings → Wake-up voice and pick one of the Plus voices to compare.
How do I edit the wake line?
Tap the alarm on the Alarms tab → Edit. The wake reason field is editable. Your edit is what gets read at fire time.
Subscription
How do I cancel my subscription?
iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions → WakeMeBot Plus → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation is effective at the end of your current billing period — you keep Plus until then.
How do I get a refund?
Through Apple, not us. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, find the WakeMeBot purchase, and request a refund. Apple decides whether to grant it.
Will I be charged during the free trial?
No — only when the trial ends. Cancel any time before the 7th day and you keep Plus until the trial expires, no charge.
Can I share my subscription with my family?
Not yet. Family Sharing for WakeMeBot Plus is on the roadmap.
I subscribed but the app still shows free.
Try Settings → Account → pull down to refresh, then close and reopen the app. If still showing free, email support@wakemebot.app with your Apple receipt.
I deleted the app — am I still being charged?
Yes. Deleting the app does NOT cancel the subscription. The subscription lives at Apple's billing layer. Always cancel via Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions before deleting.
Privacy
Does WakeMeBot read all my emails / contacts?
No. We don't request Contacts or Mail access. We only read calendar events — and only the next 3 days' worth.
Is my calendar data used to train AI?
No. Google Gemini's API and ElevenLabs' API both contractually prohibit training on submitted content. Your event titles flow through, get used to generate the suggestion, and aren't retained for training.
Where is my data stored?
- On your device: alarms, voice preference, app settings, a small cache of which events have been classified.
- On our Supabase server: your account (if signed in), display name, email, push notification token, subscription state. Each user only sees their own data via row-level security.
- At third parties: Apple (purchases, push routing), Qonversion (subscription state), Amplitude (in-app event analytics).
Can I delete all my data?
Yes. Settings → Account → Delete account. Within 30 days we remove your row from our database and signal Amplitude to delete your event data. Read the full Privacy Policy.
Troubleshooting
Alarms don't fire when the app is closed.
- iOS Settings → Notifications → WakeMeBot → make sure notifications are allowed.
- iOS Settings → Focus → check no Focus mode is silencing WakeMeBot.
- Check the alarm is enabled (toggle on the Alarms tab — orange = on).
- If still nothing fires, email support@wakemebot.app with the alarm time and your device's iOS version.
Voice doesn't play.
- Check your iPhone isn't on silent. The alarm should bypass the silent switch — but worth confirming.
- If you're on Plus, try switching the voice in Settings → Wake-up voice to a different one.
- Force-quit + relaunch the app.
"Connect your calendar" keeps appearing.
You denied calendar access earlier. iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars → WakeMeBot → toggle on.
Magic-link email never arrives.
- Check spam folder.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Make sure you typed the email correctly.
- If still nothing, email support@wakemebot.app.
